Laidlow

36 year old Andy started his
sidecar racing career in 1995. He achieved notable success in amateur
competition before moving into the competitive world of F2 in the late 90’s
teaming up with Patrick Farrance in 2003. The Team became British F2
Champions in 2002 and came second in 2003, also coming second in the Isle of
Man TT in the same year. 2004 saw Andy and Patrick enter the much faster and
more demanding world of F1 sidecars. Despite the demands of setting and
familiarising themselves with the new machine the pair had an amazing season
that culminated in LFR becoming North East Champions, Scottish Champions and
coming second in the European Championship. In 2005 Team LFR entered the
ultimate sidecar championship, this being Superside, the FIM Sidecar World
Championship, and after 8 rounds comprising 16 races finished the season in
fifth position – an outstanding achievement considering this was their first
year racing at this level. It was a similar story in 2006 with Team LFR once
again finishing fifth in the world series. 2007 and 2008 saw Andy take a
break from racing to spend time with
